WWE's Becky Lynch announces pregnancy, 'going away for awhile'
One of the biggest current stars in WWE is set to add another title to her collection: mom.
Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy at the opening of “Monday Night Raw” on Monday.
Before making the big announcement, an emotional Lynch recounted her start in WWE, coming to the U.S. while not knowing anyone here, and wondering if fans would get behind a “loudmouthed Irish woman.”
The fans “put me on their shoulders and carried me into history and I will never forget that. Through injury and triumph, it was the fans who stood up for me, who had my back and it was the fans that I grabbed onto when I didn’t have anybody else,” Lynch said.
“That’s why the fans, it is you at home that deserve to hear this from me,” Lynch said. “…I’m going to go and be a mother.”
Lynch was the Raw women’s champion, but relinquished it during the announcement because of her leaving.
Engaged to fellow WWE performer Seth Rollins, Lynch told People that the couple’s baby is expected in December.
The couple found out about Lynch’s pregnancy in April.
I have no idea what happens from here, but I do know that you’ve made all my dreams come true. I entered the PC in 2013 not knowing anyone, I'll leave that same building tonight with my new family. Thank you all so much. pic.twitter.com/auSvwtx3gp
