West Virginia offensive tackle Colton McKivitz, a four-year starter for the Mountaineers, joined the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers on Saturday as their fifth-round draft choice (No. 153 overall).

McKivitz was named third-team All-American and second-team All-Big 12 last season. He started 47 career games, three seasons on the right side before moving to left tackle last year.

He was invited to the NFL Combine in February and ran a 5.35-second 40-yard dash at 6-foot-6, 306 pounds.

Prior to joining the Mountaineers, he was an all-state selection in football and basketball at Union Local in Belmont, Ohio.
