Addison Copeland III, a wide receiver from Buffalo, N.Y., joined the recent parade of 2022 prospects to make public their commitment to Pitt when he put the news on his Twitter account Tuesday.

Copeland, 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, is the seventh prospect — and the third in four days — to make a non-binding commitment to coach Pat Narduzzi. He is the first wide receiver in Pitt’s class and the second offensive skill position player, joining Tampa, Fla., running back Jordaan Bailey.

Pitt was among many suitors trying to get a promise from Copeland, a three-star prospect who had previously committed to Rutgers. A rising senior at Western Maritime School, Copeland has offers from Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College, Indiana, Buffalo and South Carolina.

He is rated the No. 1 wide receiver in New York and the No. 5 player in the state overall, according to Rivals.com.
