West Point 12U claims District 26 baseball title

Sean Walker drove in three runs and had three hits, including two doubles, to help lead the West Point 12-year-old all-star baseball team to a 9-0 victory against Kess in the District 26 championship game.

Dylan Firmstone, who pitched 51/3 innings, and Anthony Scarton blanked Kess on only four hits.

Kess is made up of players from Kiski, Elderton, South Bend and Shelocta.

Max Butler and Hayden Porterfield hit doubles, and Firmstone had two hits.

West Point, which went 5-0 in the tournament, will play in the section tournament beginning Saturday at Rostraver.

West Point 9-10U

Winning pitcher Luke Semelka collected four hits, and West Point defeated West Shamokin, 17-3, in the District 26 9-10U semifinals.

Brody Chismar had three hits, including two doubles, Dominic Scarton had a triple and Mikey Monios had two hits including a double.
