Inclement weather Wednesday afternoon forced District 31 American Legion officials to postpone the player’s showcase.

The showcase was moved to July 24 at Legion Keener Park in Latrobe.

College coaches and players from every team in the league were scheduled to attend.

The players were to be timed in running and observed on how they field and their throwing ability.

Years ago, American Legion baseball held workouts around the state, and the players were selected to play in an All-State game.

Now, leagues are holding their own showcases to help players gain exposure.
