The United States Hockey League (USHL), the top junior league in the United States, announced it is hoping to open its 2020-21 season Nov. 5.

The league has a regionally-based schedule of 54 games for each team with the goal of concluding the regular season by April 24.

The Youngstown Phantoms are scheduled to begin their season on the road against the Chicago Steel on Nov. 6 and will play their first 10 games as a visitor. Their first home game at the Covelli Center is scheduled for Dec. 4 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Youngstown’s schedule can be viewed here.

Only 14 of the league’s 16 teams will participate as the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Madison Capitols suspended operations for the 2020-21 season because of substantial rink damage and significant county restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, respectively.

Spectator policies will be determined by individual clubs as well as local jurisdictions.

The USHL canceled the remainder of the 2019-20 season March 18 due to the pandemic.
