Mark Madden and Tim Benz discuss the state of the Pirates, what could be coming for the Penguins, and the Steelers outlook on this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page.

The guys kick off the show talking about the Pirates, who won three games out of four this weekend, but still the crowds were small. Madden says that the team doesn’t need to sell tickets to be profitable, so the current owner doesn’t even try to get fans in the stadium.

They also talk about Ke’Bryan Hayes and his future. But basically Madden says that any discuss of the Pirates as a competitive entity is a waste of time with the state of the ownership of the team.

Also the guys talk about the future of the Penguins. Madden doesn’t think they will burn it all down, but instead will be stuck in a cycle of being in the middle of the league. Madden and Benz discuss whether the team will try to trade Jake Guentzel or Bryan Rust for a more physical player. And what about Tristan Jarry?

The guys also recap this weekend’s sports headlines about golf, the French Open and Julio Jones going to the Tennessee Titans (and how that impacts the Steelers when they meet.)

And they answer viewers comments and questions as always.
