Retired Steelers safety Troy Polamalu didn’t just make a statement with bone-crushing hits on opponents during his career.

His long, flowing hair also was hard to miss.

Now, there is a new NFL phenom who is turning heads with his style of play, and a mohawk that speaks for itself.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes debates with Polamalu in a new Head & Shoulders commercial about whether the shampoo serves as great “offense” or “defense.”

The commercial was unveiled by PEOPLE on Tuesday morning.

In a locker room setting with Mahomes dressed in full gear, an eavesdropping Polamalu — rocking a sport coat with a “VIP” lanyard — overhears Mahomes crediting his hair’s appearance to the “great offense” of Head & Shoulders.

“No. It’s great defense,” Polamalu replies.

The pair exchange barbs at one another in attempt to solidify their respective side.

Mahomes, who was the NFL’s MVP last season, says as much.

Polamalu, seems to have the trump card, though.

“Super Bowl champ… Twice,” he said, ending the argument.

His hair then blows dramatically into the wind.

Mahomes has to take out a miniature fan to blow his hair, which doesn’t have nearly the effect.

Despite the on-camera debate, the co-stars have a great admiration for one another.

“Find somebody that your children can really look up to: Patrick is that,” Polamalu said to PEOPLE.

Mahomes wasn’t shy about praising the future Hall of Fame safety either.

“It’s definitely a dream come true,” Mahomes said of working with Polamalu. “Seeing Troy and then seeing all those iconic commercials, I knew that once my hair was kind of my thing I wanted to be able to put that as part of my brand. I’m glad that it came into fruition, and I got to be a part of it now.

“Troy had the iconic hair, he’d just run around the field and his hair’s just flying around everywhere,” Mahomes added.
