In this week’s “Madden Monday” podcast, Mark Madden of 105.9 the X and the Tribune-Review joins me to talk about finding interest in the NHL playoffs without the Penguins’ participation. Are the Bruins more of a model for the Penguins’ reconstruction than the Islanders ever were?

We get into the Pirates’ series win over St. Louis and their ability to overcome injuries to the pitching staff. Plus, we discuss whether validating the Chris Archer trade is still worthwhile.

On the Steelers front, there may be some positions the organization should address before the end of training camp. And there are ways they can still do it. Mark is struggling to figure out how one of the team’s rookies is going fit in. And I’m struggling to figure out ow Benny Snell is really going to be “a closer” for James Conner.

Most importantly, Mark tells us why he wrote his Liverpool column and what the concert calendar holds.
