An upgrade is coming to the Three Rivers baseball facility in McKees Rocks thanks to a partnership between the Tull Family Foundation and local fitness studio Ramp ‘N’ Rize.

The two partners announced their partnership and a $500,000 donation last week to upgrade the entire baseball facility and its three venues with field lighting, turf and sprinkler systems, along with a new performance center, that will be sponsored by Ramp ‘N’ Rize and will feature signature RNR training equipment and access to studio trainers.

The three baseball fields will be named after Pittsburgh baseball greats Roberto Clemente and Andrew McCutchen, along with Jackie Robinson.

“Pittsburgh area youth and baseball have always been passions of the Tull Family,” the Tull Family Foundation said in a statement. “Being able to name these ball fields, that will impact generations of young players after three of the greatest to ever play the game, is both an honor and a privilege. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Bob (Janeda) and Glenn (Vietmeier) to continue the work that they have started to build up this community and continue to share our love of the game.”

Between its three baseball fields — two designed for Little League and junior play and the third is for high school level games — the Three Rivers baseball facility has provided youths, from a broad range of economic backgrounds, access to fields during the week and tournaments on the weekend.

Janeda and Vietmeier, who are local community members, manage the venue and grew up playing baseball in the area. They are excited to have the opportunity to revamp such an important part of the community.

“Having grown up with the benefit of a baseball diamond, we know how important it is to maintain the Three Rivers Baseball facility for generations to come,” Janeda and Vietmeier said in a combined statement. “We are excited to partner with the Tull Family Foundation and Ramp ‘N’ Rize to continue the enthusiasm for baseball within our community.”
