It appears encouraging that starting strong safety Terrell Edmunds will return to the Pittsburgh Steelers lineup for Sunday’s game against the rival Baltimore Ravens.

Edmunds returned to full practice Thursday, according to the injury report. Edmunds did not play in the Christmas Eve win against the Las Vegas Raiders and did not practice at all last week because of a hamstring injury. Edmunds sat out Wednesday’s practice, but that was along with several teammates who attended a service in remembrance of Steelers legend Franco Harris.

One of the players who filled in for Edmunds against the Raiders, Tre Norwood, suffered a hamstring injury in that game and has not practiced this week.

Also Thursday, wide receiver Diontae Johnson was upgraded to a full practice participant a day after being listed as limited. Johnson, who has been dealing with nagging toe and hip injuries in recent weeks, was designated Thursday because of the hip ailment. Johnson has not missed any game action, nor is his status for Sunday expected to be affected.

Inside linebacker Myles Jack was limited because of a groin injury that caused him to miss the win at Carolina two weeks ago. Jack was part of the contingent that did not practice Wednesday because of personal reasons.

The only other player on the status report because of injury is veteran defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, who has missed myriad practices this season. He did not practice Thursday because of a toe injury, but if recent weeks/games are any indication, Ogunjobi’s status for the game in Baltimore is not expected to be impacted by the ailment.
