Pittsburgh Steelers to walk virtual runway in fashion event

Steelers Cornerback Joe Haden has all the moves — off the field too.
Just ask his teammates.
“In the locker room, we all joke that Haden is always styling,” said linebacker Bud Dupree. “He is on another level. We watch and emulate him.”
“Joe is Mr. Fashion,” said wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. “He and his family have swag.”
Dupree and Smith-Schuster will have a chance to bring out their inner “Joe Haden” fashion sense as co-captains for the annual Rock Steelers Style: Far and Wide, a fashion show and fundraiser. Because of the pandemic, the runway event at 8 p.m. Friday will be a live, virtual program. It is presented by Neighborhood Ford Store, PNC Bank, and UPMC.
Fans can watch on Steelers.com, the Steelers Official Mobile App, as well as the team’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels.
The event raises money to support the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program and the Cancer Caring Center. Co-chairs for the evening are Steelers president Art Rooney II and wife Greta Rooney and coach Mike Tomlin and his wife Kiya Tomlin, a fashion designer who has a “Game Day” clothing line. She will showcase some looks from her collections in the show. Players and their families walk the runway in everything from casual to formal wear.
There is an online auction here.
Items include a pair “Joe Haden custom black-and-gold Air Jordans,” and “Joe Haden’s LeBron James jersey” from Haden’s closet.

Fans can order a custom cutout photo of themselves to be displayed in the stands at Heinz Field when the Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals on Nov. 15. There are also autographed items to bid. Fans can design the next Terrible Towel; as of Thursday afternoon, the bid was at $2,100.
Just like Haden, Dupree said he loves looking good. He doesn’t usually have a preference on a designer or clothing brand, he just wants clothes that fit well. Dupree said his favorite color combination is red and black. For shoes, he’s a Christian Louboutin and Balenciaga kind of guy.
“The fans love to attend these shows live, but even though it is virtual, there will be some good camera angles so they will be able to see us pretty well,” Dupree said.
People all over world most likely will be tuning in to see Dupree and Smith-Schuster, who will be sporting bold hues.
“I like loud stuff,” said Smith-Schuster, a fan of Louis Vuitton. “I also like to mix it up when it comes to fashion.”
He has a stylist from Los Angeles who chooses outfits for the wide receiver to wear during the regular season, and other garments for the playoffs. Smith-Schuster and Boujee, his French bulldog, often coordinate outfits.
“Whatever you wear, it’s about looking good,” said Smith-Schuster. “And you have to embrace your own style.”
