6-foot-2 ½, 193 pounds

Numbers: In four seasons at Penn State, Porter played in 35 games with 31 starts, yet he totaled just one career interception. He made more of an impact breaking up passes, collecting 11 as a senior, a total that included a school-record six against Purdue. … He put up his best numbers in 2021 when he totaled 51 tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and four pass breakups.

Hometown: Bakersfield, Calif.

Tidbits: His father, Joey Porter Sr., spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being taken in the third round of the 1999 draft. Porter Sr. also was the team’s outside linebackers coach from 2015-18. … Before arriving at Penn State, spent his time at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic and North Allegheny high schools. He was part of a North Allegheny team that went 10-1 in his senior season when he was a team captain. … USA Today named him to its all-state team in 2018, and he was rated a four-star recruit by two scouting services and a three-star recruit by another.
