The Pittsburgh Steelers added to their offensive line position room Monday by claiming guard/tackle Tykeem Doss off waivers from the rival Baltimore Ravens.
The 6-foot-5, 380-pound Doss briefly played guard for the Ravens in their preseason opener Friday but his playing time during last year’s preseason was at tackle. An undrafted free agent out of Southern Miss last year, Doss has no regular-season NFL experience. He spent all of last season on the Ravens’ practice squad.
With first-round pick Troy Fautanu out for perhaps the remainder of the preseason because of a knee injury, the Steelers are short a lineman during practices.
Doss takes the roster spot of speedy defensive back Kalon Barnes. Barnes left Sunday’s practice at Saint Vincent College early because of a quadriceps injury.
Baltimore let Doss go Sunday as part of a corresponding move when they signed former Steelers wide receiver Anthony Miller.
