The Pittsburgh Riverhounds couldn’t buy a goal on a rainy Saturday night, dropping a 1-0 road game to the Charlotte Independence.

The Riverhounds (10-6-3) have lost two in a row after winning their previous four games. They’re tied for first place in the USL Championship’s Atlantic Division with 33 points. Charlotte (8-7-2) moved up to fourth place in the division with the win.

Charlotte scored the game’s lone goal in the opening minutes of the second half.

Irvin Parra took a long through ball moving down the right wing and unleashed a low cross that Enzo Martinez directed in with a feet-first slide.

The Riverhounds’ best scoring chance came in the waning seconds of the first half when Alex Dixon’s shot from inside the penalty area slid just over the bar.

The Riverhounds host Tampa Bay at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a battle for first place.
