Virtual sporting events have become relatively popular during the coronavirus pandemic.

The NBA held an NBA 2k20 virtual tournament where players from across the league faced off to see who was the best. MLB players are competing in an MLB The Show tournament with one representative from each team.

Now, the USL and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds are getting in on the action as well.

The USL eCup: 2020 FIFA edition will begin May 4 and last for six weeks. The tournament will consist of 32 total teams from the USL Championship and USL League One.

There will be weekly brackets across three divisions, and all of the participating teams will get assigned randomly a premier international squad. Throughout the first week of competition the teams will compete to earn their spot in Division A, Division B, or Division C.

From there, teams will have the opportunity to move divisions based on their performance in each week’s elimination bracket. Points also be earned each week by the teams that win in their respective brackets.

At the end of the six-week tournament, the team with the most cumulative points will be the tournament winner. But the action doesn’t stop there.

Just like they could in real life, fans can get in on the action and cheer their favorite squad. All of the Riverhounds’ matches will be streamed live on the team’s Twitch channel at twitch.tv/riverhoundssc.
