Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC striker Russell Cicerone was named the USL Championship’s Player of the Week after he scored three times in Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Atlanta United 2.

Cicerone has 11 goals this season, one shy of his career total from 2017-20.

He is tied for second in the USL Championship, trailing only Colorado Springs’ Hadji Berry (19).

This is the first time Cicerone has been named in the starting 11 of the Team of the Week.

Riverhounds midfielder Alex Dixon also was named to the league’s best 11 for the fourth time in the past five weeks and fifth time overall in 2021.

Dixon had two assists against Atlanta and now leads the team with seven.

The Riverhounds next travel to Hartford Athletic for a match at 7 p.m. Saturday, at Dillon Stadium.
