Riverhounds’ all-time assists leader Kenardo Forbes returns for 6th season

Kenardo Forbes will return to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC for a sixth season after he agreed to a new contract, the club announced Wednesday.
The Hounds midfielder is the club’s all-time assists leader and longest-tenured active player. The new contract is pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Forbes, 34, is the USL Championship’s all-time assists leader (55). He had 10 assists last season in helping the Hounds finish 16-10-10 and in fifth place in the USL Championship standings. He has 44 assists since joining the Hounds in 2018.
“Kenny continues to be a major asset to this organization on and off the the field,” Hounds coach Bob Lilley said in a statement. “His consistency of performance since his arrival to the USL Championship is unmatched, and his positive impact on all those around him make him a very important part of the club moving forward.”
Forbes, the Hounds’ captain, is a six-time USL Championship All-League selection, including all five of his seasons with the Riverhounds. He also was one of three MVP finalists in 2019. Last season, he was named to the All-USL Second Team.
Forbes also has 17 goals in his five seasons with the Hounds.
The Riverhounds are preparing for the 2023 USL Championship season, which begins in March.
