Pat Narduzzi doesn’t like to talk about injuries, especially when the information might help an opponent’s preparation.

But Pitt’s coach did offer 57 words Thursday when he was asked about quarterback Kenny Pickett’s left ankle that was injured in the second half of the Boston College game.

He didn’t give any details on how Pickett looked in practice this week, but he did say, “Kenny’s worked his tail off. Kenny’s tough. You saw him finish the game.”

Narduzzi did admit that Pickett may not be at his best, health-wise.

“Is he 100% healthy? No. But I feel good with where he is right now.”

It sounded like encouraging news, but after that, Narduzzi shut down his end of the conversation.

“I’m not going to talk about his ankle or anything else,” he said. “You know I don’t talk about injuries. We’re pretty healthy right now. That’s all you get there.”

Later, however, Narduzzi gave up some unsolicited intelligence on senior running back A.J. Davis, who has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury.

”A.J is back 100% right now, so that’s a good thing,” he said.
