The Pitt baseball team won’t repeat its 2022 trip to the ACC Tournament semifinals after its season ended Thursday with a 10-2 loss to No. 1 Wake Forest in the second game of pool play in Durham, N.C.

Brock Wilken, Bennett Lee and Danny Corona hit home runs among Wake Forest’s 12 hits, and two-time ACC Pitcher of the Year Rhett Lowder kept No. 12 Pitt’s bats under control through most of seven innings to secure the victory at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Pitt (24-31) did have some individual highlights in its final game of the season.

Sky Duff smacked a leadoff double in the bottom of the first inning, establishing himself as Pitt’s all-time doubles leader (54). Noah Martinez ended the season as Pitt’s RBIs (52) and hits (62) leader, with a double in the first.

Dom Popa hit his second career home run — and his second in as many days — in the bottom of the eighth inning.
