The Tar Heels, who failed to reach the NCAA Tournament after being ranked No. 1 in the preseason, bring back R.J. Davis (16.1) and Armando Bacot (15.9). They are ranked No. 15 in the ESPN Preseason Top 25.

Pitt concludes January with consecutive road games at Duke on Jan. 20, Georgia Tech on Jan. 23 and Miami, a Final Four team last season, on Jan. 27. Wake Forest visits The Pete on Jan. 31.

Pitt opens its nonconference season with four previously announced home games, starting with North Carolina A&T on Nov. 6. That will be followed by Binghamton on Nov. 10, Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 13 and Jacksonville on Nov. 17.

The Panthers will continue priming for their ACC schedule with a trip to the Preseason NIT at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., for a game against Florida on Nov. 22 before facing either Baylor or Oregon State on Nov. 24.
