The Pittsburgh Pirates will pay tribute to the late rapper Mac Miller by giving away commemorative bobbleheads during a game in July.

On Thursday, the team shared a teaser video on social media featuring a montage and the message, “This is for you, Malcolm.”

Miller grew up in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood and graduated from Allderdice High School.

In the video, Pirates fans passionately talk about how Mac Miller influenced their lives. The montage weaves together iconic Pittsburgh landmarks—Blue Slide Park in Squirrel Hill, Jerry’s Records, and Frick Park Market—culminating in the reveal of a Mac Miller bobblehead, dressed in a Pirates jersey.

“I think Mac Miller kind of put us on the map a little bit,” said one fan.

The video also contains a clip of Pirates player Andrew McCutchen saying, “He’s just a Pittsburgh guy through and through, that’s what made people love him so much.”

The bobblehead giveaway is July 19.

Miller, born Malcolm J. McCormick, died at 26 of a drug overdose Sept. 7, 2018 at his Los Angeles home. Three men were later charged in a federal grand jury indictment that said they distributed counterfeit pharmaceutical pills, containing fentanyl that resulted in his death.
