Gov. Tom Wolf wished the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies good luck for the MLB season.
Or at least tried to.
Wolf tweeted the message Thursday afternoon, but included the wrong spelling of the Pirates’ nickname, writing “Bucks” instead of Bucs.
@GovernorTomWolf That’s a swing and a miss, sir! But the thought was appreciated! #OpeningDay @Pirates pic.twitter.com/Nr76oVbrqu— TFL Pittsburgh (@TFLPittsburgh) July 24, 2020
The governor deleted the tweet and corrected himself later in the evening with a new tweet.
Today is #OpeningDay. Wishing best of luck to the @Phillies and @Pirates this season.#RingTheBell #LetsGoBucs— Governor Tom Wolf (@GovernorTomWolf) July 24, 2020
Both the Pirates and Phillies open their seasons Friday. The Pirates play the St. Louis Cardinals tonight at 8:15 p.m. in St. Louis. The Phillies play at home tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Miami Marlins.
