The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired left-handed reliever Austin Davis on Wednesday, sending cash considerations and a player to be named in a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Davis, 27, was 0-0 with a 21.00 ERA and 3.67 WHIP in four appearances for the Phillies this season before being designated for assignment Aug. 21. He has a 1-2 career record with a 5.86 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 58 1/3 innings in 50 career major-league appearances.

Davis spent most of last season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he went 4-1 with a 2.75 ERA and recorded 64 strikeouts in 37 relief appearances. He had seven stints with the Phillies last season.
