The Pirates play the Reds on May 12, 2021, at PNC Park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are increasing capacity to PNC Park starting in June, the team announced Tuesday.

PNC Park will have an increased capacity of about 55%, with an approximate 3-foot social distancing between seating allotments, starting June 3, per the team’s announcement. That capacity will be in effect for all home games in June. On July 1, the Pirates will bump up to full capacity.

Tickets for remaining games will go on sale May 26.

The Pirates are currently operating at 25% capacity for games at PNC Park.

Maximum capacities for indoor and outdoor venues were increased by Gov. Tom Wolf on Monday, with indoor events having a max of 50% and outdoor events allowed up to 75% of maximum occupancy limits. On Memorial Day, most covid restrictions, including capacity limits, will be lifted in Pennsylvania.

“We are incredibly excited to continue the process of opening PNC Park up to more fans and taking the next

important steps toward operating PNC Park at full capacity,” Pirates President Travis Williams said. “Summer

in Pittsburgh is about enjoying time with friends and family at the ballpark. With the easing of restrictions,

this is the perfect time to begin opening the ballpark without limitations and offer the perfect venue to come

back together as a community.”
