Pirates sign 34 players to contracts

The Pittsburgh Pirates agreed to contracts Thursday with 34 players for the 2022 season.

Those signings includes 15 position players: outfielders Anthony Alford, Greg Allen, Jared Oliva, Canaan Smith-Njigba, Jack Suwinski and Travis Swaggerty; and infielders Diego Castillo, Rodolfo Castro, Michael Chavis, Oneil Cruz, Ke’Bryan Hayes, Tucupita Marcano, Hoy Park, Liover Peguero and Cole Tucker.

The rest are pitchers: left-handers Anthony Banda, Aaron Fletcher, Sam Howard and Dillon Peters and right-handers David Bednar, JT Brubaker, Blake Cederlind, Roansy Contreras, Wil Crowe, Eric Hanhold, Mitch Keller, Max Kranick, Nick Mears, Adonis Medina, Luis Oviedo, Zach Thompson, Duane Underwood Jr., Bryse Wilson and Miguel Yajure.
