Pirates fire game planning coach Radley Haddad

In addition to relieving manager Derek Shelton of his duties, the Pittsburgh Pirates have fired run prevention and game planning coach Radley Haddad, a source confirmed to TribLive.
Haddad, 34, was in his fourth season on staff with the Pirates, having been hired in November of 2021 after spending five years with the New York Yankees as a coaching assistant and bullpen catcher.
His original title with the Pirates was game planning and strategy coach.
He joined the Yankees as an undrafted free agent in 2013 following a collegiate career at Western Carolina and Butler.
Bench coach Don Kelly was elevated to manager for the remainder of 2025 following Shelton’s dismissal.
Kelly’s former position and that of Haddad are now vacant on the Pirates’ staff.
The Pirates host the Atlanta Braves for three games at PNC Park beginning Friday, with Kelly set to make his debut leading the Pirates as full-time manager.
