Pirates farm report for May 28, 2022: Ji-hwan Bae homers in Indianapolis win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 24-22) defeated St. Paul (Twins), 7-4. 2B Ji-hwan Bae went 2 for 5 with a homer, his fifth, and three RBIs. DH Travis Swaggerty (.257) went 2 for 5 with a triple and an RBI. C Carter Bins (.214) went 2 for 4 with a double and drove in a pair of runs. SS Cole Tucker (.091) went 1 for 4 with a stolen base and a run scored. RHP Bryse Wilson (1-0, 6.00) started and worked six innings, giving up four runs on six hits, including two homers, with eight strikeouts.LHP Aaron Fletcher (0.90) worked two scoreless innings. RHP Eric Hanhold (4.29) struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth for his first save.

Next: Saturday at St. Paul (Twins), 6:07 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-22) lost 3-2 to Harrisburg (Nationals) on a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth. RHP JC Flowers (2-3, 3.23) gave up a one-out solo shot to C Brady Lindsly. It was the only hit Flowers allowed in 2.1 innings. RHP Kyle Nicolas (4.21) started and gave up two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. The Curve was held to one hit. 3B Andres Alvarez (.288) drew a bases-loaded walk and PH Connor Scott (.303) had an RBI groundout in the eighth. SS Liover Peguero (.323) had the only a hit, a single. He was 1 for 4.

Next: Sunday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 1 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 20-23) was doubled up by Asheville (Astros), 8-4. RHP Jared Jones (2-3, 5.35) was the hard-luck loser. He started and gave up one run on six hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk in five innings. Asheville blew the game open with six runs in the eighth. RHP Garrett Leonard (9.95) recorded one out and gave up four runs on two hits, including a homer, and two walks. 2B Endy Rodriguez (.268) went 1 for 4 with a three-run homer, his sixth. RF Sammy Siani (.210) went 2 for 3 with a run scored. CF Hudson Head (.246) went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Next: Sunday at Asheville (Astros), 1:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 19-25) was battered by Fort Myers (Twins), 9-2. RHP Justin Meis (3-4, 3.50) of Bethel Park started and went six innings, allowing seven hits, including two homers, and seven runs. Only three were earned, as the Marauders made a pair of errors. 2B Jase Bowen (.235) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his sixth. LF Luke Brown (.222) went 1 for 3 with a double. 3B Brenden Dixon (.238) went 1 for 2 with two walks. The Marauders recorded only three hits.
