The Indians scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth but couldn’t rally from a 9-0 deficit. 2B/SS Ji-hwan Bae (.308) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. LF Jamie Ritchie (.171) was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, 3B Josh Bissonette (.221) doubled in three runs and C/3B Taylor Davis (.224) also knocked in a run. 1B Josh VanMeter (.200) was 0 for 4 in a rehab outing. LHP Zach Matson (0-1, 7.94) allowed two runs on two hits in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 32-35) edged New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 8-7. Last year’s first-round pick, DH Henry Davis (.128) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, including a double. 1B Brendt Citta (.250) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. RF Connor Scott (.253) also knocked in a run. RF Matt Fraizer (.221) and SS Liover Peguero (.289) each had two hits. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (3-4, 4.21) allowed one hit with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.

RHP Sean Sullivan (1-4, 5.19) allowed six runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings and took the loss.
