Pirates farm report for July 31, 2021: Matthew Fraizer, Liover Peguero homer late in Greensboro victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 36-39) edged St. Paul (Twins), 6-5. SS Cole Tucker (.235) hit a two-run home run from the leadoff spot. 1B Christian Bethancourt (.276) also homered. 3B Erik Gonzalez was 0 for 1 in a rehab outing. DH Colin Moran (.286) was 0 for 3 with an RBI in his rehab outing. CF Chris Sharpe (.197) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP James Marvel (5.47) allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits with five walks and four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings and got a no-decision. RHP Tanner Anderson (1-0, 1.64) picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of no-hit relief.

Next: Sunday at St. Paul (Twins), 3:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 41-33) dropped a 9-3 decision to Harrisburg (Nationals). 2B Ji-Hwan Bae (.276)) tripled and homered. LF Daniel Amaral (.245) also hit a solo home run. 3B Diego Castillo (.274) had an RBI single. RHP Jeffrey Passantino (1-5, 4.14) allowed six runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings and was dealt the loss.

Next: Sunday vs. Harrisburg (Nationals), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High A, 48-29) scored an 11-7 win over Winston-Salem (White Sox). CF Matthew Fraizer (.321) and SS Liover Peguero (.262) each smacked two-run home runs in the late innings to secure the victory. RF Matt Gorski (.211) also hit a two-run home run, and 1B Aaron Shackelford (.212) hit a solo shot, his 16th. Fraizer and Peguero each had three hits. RHP J.C. Flowers (3.89) allowed five runs on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts in a no-decision. RHP Oliver Garcia (4-2, 2.88) picked up the win after allowing two runs on three hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Next: Sunday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 2 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low A, 45-31) won 13-10 against Dunedin (Blue Jays). LF Jack Herman (.227) hit a pair of home runs and had five RBIs. 2B Jase Bowen (.205) was 3 for 3 with two homers and three RBIs. 3B Dariel Lopez (.255) was 4 for 5 with two RBIs, including a solo home run. SS Maikol Escotto (.262) hit his seventh home run. C Endy Rodriguez (.277) also homered. RF Daniel Rivero (.244) was 3 for 4 with a double. RHP Carlos Campos (1-0, 10.80) picked up the win in relief after allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits in 1 2/3 innings.
