Pirates farm report for July 28, 2022: Travis Swaggerty doubles, triples, makes error in Indy loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 44-49) was edged out by Toledo (Tigers), 7-6. LF Travis Swaggerty (.256) went 2 for 4 with a double, triple and three RBIs. SS Rodolfo Castro (.237) was 2 for 5 with a double. DH Mason Martin (.197) went 1 for 4 with a double and drove in a pair. CF Jared Oliva (.213) was 2 for 4. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (4.30) started and went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts. RHP Eric Hanhold (2-1, 4.32) gave up two unearned runs after a Swaggerty error in the ninth to take the loss.

Next: Friday at Toledo (Tigers), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 46-47) was blasted by Bowie (Orioles), 13-4. RHP Luis Ortiz (3-7, 5.21) started and went 3.1 innings, allowing six runs on six hits, including two homers. SS Andres Alvarez (.234) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his 15th. DH Liover Peguero (.268) went 1 for 4 with a solo homer, his seventh. 3B Jared Triolo (.269) went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Next: Friday at Bowie (Orioles), 7:05 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 40-51) gave up four runs in the top of the 11th and lost 7-5 to Winston-Salem (White Sox). RHP Dante Mendoza (0-1, 16.20) took the loss, getting two outs and allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits, including a three-run homer. 2B Endy Rodriguez (.291) went 2 for 5 with his 15th homer and three RBIs. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.317) was 2 for 5 with a homer, his seventh.

Next: Friday vs. Winston-Salem (White Sox), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 46-46) gave up seven runs in the seventh inning and lost 10-9 to Lakeland (Tigers). The Marauders made four errors and walked five batters in the inning. RHP Jack Hartman recorded two outs and gave up five runs, none earned, on three hits and two walks. RHP Yunior Thibo (3-3, 3.96) allowed two runs, none earned, on one hit and three walks in 1.1 innings to suffer the loss. RF Jase Bowen (.278) went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. 3B Juan Jerez (.205) was 2 for 5 with a double and drove in a pair. 2B Deivis Nadal (.215) went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Next: Friday vs. Lakeland (Tigers), 6:30 p.m.
