Pirates farm report for July 23, 2022: Mason Martin’s walk-off single lifts Indy to victory

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 42-47) defeated St. Paul (Twins), 7-6, on a walk-off. DH Mason Martin (.193) singled home 1B Bligh Madris from second base in the bottom of the ninth inning for the winning run. Madris was 2 for 5, including a two-run homer. 3B Rodolfo Castro (.231) was 2 for 5 with two home runs and three RBIs. RF Jack Suwinski (.231) hit a double. CF Travis Swaggerty (.254) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. LF Jared Oliva (.216) also was 2 for 4. RHP Miguel Yajure (8.10) allowed three runs on five hits with a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings of a no-decision. LHP Eric Stout (3-2, 3.41) tossed a no-hit ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the win.

Next: Sunday vs. St. Paul (Twins), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 45-44) lost at Harrisburg (Nationals), 2-1. LF Fabricio Macias (.340) had one the Curve’s six hits and knocked in their lone run. 3B Jared Triolo (.267) was 1 for 3. SS Liover Peguero (.275) and CF Matt Fraizer (.228) each were 1 for 4. RHP Kyle Nicolas (0-3, 4.21) allowed two runs on four hits with a walk and three strikeouts in five innings and took the loss.

Next: Sunday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 1 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 38-49) won 7-6 over Hickory (Rangers). C Endy Rodriguez (.276) smacked two home runs and had three RBIs. 3B Jackson Glenn (.229) hit a three-run homer. DH Abrahan Gutierrez (.261) also hit a solo homer. 2B Dariel Lopez (.277) was 2 for 4, and SS Francisco Acuna (.283) was 2 for 3 with a double. RHP Jared Jones (4-4, 4.98) allowed five runs on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts to earn the win.

Next: Sunday vs. Hickory (Rangers), 2 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 44-44) beat Clearwater (Phillies), 7-3, in a game shortened to seven innings by inclement weather. 1B Juan Jerez (.201) hit a grand slam and finished with five RBIs. C Wyatt Hendrie (.245) was 2 for 2 with a run scored. SS Maikol Escotto (.269) and LF Angel Basabe (.222) each knocked in a run. RHP Joelvis Del Rosario (4-2, 3.61) allowed two runs on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts in five innings and earned the win.
