Pirates farm report for July 22, 2022: Jack Suwinski belts 2 homers in Indy’s loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 41-47) lost to St. Paul (Twins), 9-8, in 10 innings. St. Paul scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th. LF Jack Suwinski (.250) was 2 for 4 with two home runs and three RBIs. He also walked once and struck out twice. CF Ji-hwan Bae (.300) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. SS Rodolfo Castro (.227) was 2 for 5. 3B Hoy Park (.238) and 2B Tucupita Marcano (.250) each knocked in a run. RHP Austin Brice (2-3, 3.99) took the loss after allowing one unearned run on no hits with a walk and two strikeouts in two innings of relief.

Next: Saturday vs. St. Paul (Twins), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 45-43) dropped a 7-5 decision at Harrisburg (Nationals). LF Fabricio Macias (.348) was 1 for 4 with three RBIs. DH Aaron Shackelford (.265) hit a solo homer, his 16th of the season. 2B Andres Alvarez (.240) also hit a solo home run, his 14th. RHP Luis Ortiz (3-6, 4.77) allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts in five innings and took the loss.

Next: Saturday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 37-49) won 12-10 over Hickory (Rangers). 3B Dariel Lopez (.274) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs, including two home runs. CF Hudson Head (.225) hit a two-run homer and was 3 for 5 with three RBIs. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.306) was 3 for 5 with two RBIs. 2B Jackson Glenn (.228) was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. RHP Adrian Florencio (8.75) got the start and went 2 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts. LHP Denny Roman (1-0, 8.76) got the win after 2 1/3 innings of no-hit relief with a walk and three strikeouts.

Next: Saturday vs. Hickory (Rangers), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 43-44) lost 7-6 at Clearwater (Phillies) in a game shortened to seven innings because of inclement weather. C Wyatt Hendrie (.234) was 1 for 3 with two RBIs. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.237) and 2B Maikol Escotto (.286) each were 1 for 3 with an RBI. RHP Carlos Lomeli (3-4, 7.29) allowed one run on three hits in 1 2/3 innings of relief and took the loss.

Next: Saturday at Clearwater (Phillies), 6:30 p.m.
