Pirates farm report for Aug. 11, 2021: Lolo Sanchez homers twice for Greensboro

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 42-43) fell to St. Paul (Twins), 11-9 in 11 innings. CF Jared Oliva (.250) went 2 for 3 with his first home run, a two-run shot. He walked twice and drove in three. RF Bligh Madris (.268) went 3 for 5 with his seventh home run and three RBIs. LF Hunter Owen (.233) went 1 for 4 and connected on his 13th home run. 2B Tucupita Marcano (.255) went 2 for 5 with a double, a stolen base and an RBI. LHP Cam Vieaux (6.62) started and gave up five runs on five hits in five innings. RHP Tanner Anderson (1-1, 1.50) gave up a two-run homer in the 11th to take the loss.

Next: Thursday vs. St. Paul (Twins), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 46-37) and Erie (Tigers) were rained out. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 4:05 p.m. Thursday.

GREENSBORO (High A, 54-32) scored five runs in the first inning and beat Winston-Salem (White Sox), 9-5. CF Lolo Sanchez (.228) went 2 for 5 with two home runs, his 12th and 13th, a grand slam in the first and a two-run shot in the ninth. 2B Nick Gonzales (.275) went 2 for 4 with a walk and an RBI. 3B Andres Alvarez (.279) went 2 for 5 with two runs scored. DH Blake Sabol (.315) and LF Yoyner Fajardo (.33) each had two hits and a stolen base. RHP Santiago Florez started and went 3.2 innings, surrendering five runs on seven hits and four walks. RHP Bear Bellomy (9-2, 4.34) didn’t give up a hit in 2.1 innings of relief, fanning five, to earn the win.

Next: Thursday at Winston-Salem (White Sox), 7 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low A, 52-32) spanked Fort Myers (Twins), 8-2. 3B Dariel Lopez (.250) went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. LF Jack Herman (.232) went 1 for 5 with a triple and an RBI. DH Endy Rodriguez (.279) went 1 for 2, scored twice and drove in a pair. RHP Luis Ortiz (2-3, 3.25) was the winner, giving up one run on three hits in 6.1 innings, striking out 11. RHP Justin Meis (2.45), a Bethel Park grad, gave up one unearned run on one hit in 1.2 innings of relief.
