ALTOONA (Double-A, 5-13) hit only six singles in a 6-2 loss to Akron (Guardians). RF Jase Bowen (.167) went 1 for 4 and singled in a run in the bottom of the fifth and C Abrahan Gutierrez (.293) singled in a run in the sixth while finishing 1 for 3 with a walk. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.176), 1B Aaron Shackelford (.300), 3B Brenden Dixon (.235) and CF Tres Gonzalez (.196) were the other Curve hitters with singles. Starter Braxton Ashcraft (0-1, 6.91) gave up four runs on six hits, including a solo home run, walked one and struck out five in five innings to take the loss. RHP Cameron Junker (9.82) yielded two runs, one unearned, on one hit and walked two in two innings of relief. RHP Chris Gau (2.53) walked one and allowed no hits in two shutout innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 11-7) beat Greenville (Red Sox), 4-2. RHP JP Massey (2-1, 3.86) started and went five innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. LHP Luis Peralta (0.00) pitched 2⅓ perfect innings of relief with five strikeouts. LHP Cy Nielson (2.25) worked a scoreless ninth for his second save. 2B Mitch Jebb (.209) went 1 for 5 with two RBIs and his third stolen base. CF Sammy Siani (.310) went 1 for 2 with a run scored, an RBI and two walks. SS Termarr Johnson (.182) went 1 for 3 with two walks.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 4-15) used five pitchers to throw a five-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Clearwater (Phillies). Starting RHP Carson Reed (1.72) allowed three hits and two walks and struck out five in 4⅔ innings. RHP Elijah Birdsong (0.00) gave up one hit in one-third of an inning. RHP Tyler Kennedy (12.71) walked two and fanned two in an inning of relief. LHP Yoldin De La Paz (2-0, 1.54) struck out one and gave up no hits in two innings and got the win. RHP Landon Tomkins (3.00) yielded a hit and struck out one in an inning for his second save. The Marauders bats only managed three total hits. CF P.J. Hilson (.188) hit a solo home run in the eighth and doubled. C Garrett Forrester (.214) was 1 for 3 with a single, a walk and a strikeout. RF Shalin Polanco (.141) went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts.
