Pirates farm report for April 24, 2022: Oneil Cruz belts walk-off home run for Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 9-8) defeated Columbus (Guardians), 8-7, on a walk-off for the second straight day. LF Oneil Cruz (.204) smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to seal the victory. 2B Hoy Park (.500) was 2 for 4 with a three-run homer. 1B Mason Martin (.316) was 2 for 5 with two RBIs. 3B Josh Bissonette (.375) was 3 for 5 with an RBI. RHP Roansy Contreras (2.70) got the start and allowed one run and three hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. RHP John O’Reilly (1-0, 3.86) earned the win after allowing one earned run and one hit in two innings of relief.

Next: Tuesday Iowa (Cubs), 7:38 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 7-8) beat New Hampshire (Blue Jays), 5-4, on a walk-off single. 2B Andres Alvarez (.211) smacked a single in the bottom of the ninth to plate LF Connor Scott (.400) for the winning run. SS Liover Peguero (.320) was 2 for 4. C Blake Sabol (.364) was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RHP Travis MacGregor (10.38) allowed four runs on two hits and had six walks and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. RHP Tahnaj Thomas (1-0, 1.42) got the win after throwing 1 1/3 no-hit innings of relief.

Next: Tuesday at Akron (Guardians), 6:35 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 6-9) edged Aberdeen (Orioles), 4-3, in a 10th-inning walk-off. 2B Yoyner Fajardo (.320) singled home SS Maikol Escotto (.184) in the bottom of the 10th to give Greensboro a victory. Fajardo was 2 for 5. 1B Ernny Ordonez (.227) was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. 3B Dariel Lopez (.182) was 2 for 4. RHP Nick Garcia (0.87) allowed one unearned run on one hit with three walks and four strikeouts in three innings. RHP Ricky DeVito (1-1, 2.89) allowed one run and three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in two innings of relief to earn the win.

Next: Tuesday at Rome (Braves), 6 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 8-7) dropped a 7-4 decision to Daytona (Reds). DH Jacob Gonzalez (.447) was 3 for 3. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.259) knocked in three runs and had a triple. RHP Joelvis Del Rosario (0-1, 7.45) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Next: Tuesday vs. Dunedin (Blue Jays), 6:30 p.m.
