The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Saturday as part of their Steve Blass celebration they will create a team hall of fame, and Blass will be part of the inaugural class in 2020.

Blass went 103-76 with a 3.63 ERA in his 10 seasons with the Pirates and won a championship in 1971 by throwing a complete game in Game 7 of the World Series. He also spent 34 seasons as a color commentator for Pirates games on TV and radio before retiring this weekend.

The hall of fame will select a limited number of members each year, and fans will have a chance to help choose the inductees. The hall-of-famers will be honored with permanent displays inside PNC Park.
