With the official closing of the 2026 transfer portal window closing Friday, Penn State made all of its portal movement — at least to this point — official.
The Nittany Lions announced the signings of 39 transfer additions, according to a university release. A whopping 24 of those players followed coach Matt Campbell from Iowa State, two came from UCLA and 13 other schools were represented.
The headliner, of course, is former Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht, who will start at Penn State in 2026 after 39 career starts in three seasons. His understudy will be former four-star prospect and promising redshirt freshman Alex Manske, who additionally came from the Cyclones.
Friday’s mass announcement also came with one new, previously unreported addition: former Iowa State linebacker John Klosterman. A redshirt senior and former Cyclones walk-on, Klosterman notched five tackles in seven games last season.
Penn State additionally announced nine new signings of high school prospects, joining the duo of Peyton Falzone and Jackson Ford, who made things official on National Signing Day.
Just because the portal closes to new entries Friday does not mean Penn State is done adding. Players who have already entered can still commit to new schools, and there is still a bit of high school recruiting to be done before spring practices.
But the bulk of Penn State’s offseason is now complete. Here are all 48 new names you need to know for the 2026 Nittany Lions (in alphabetical order).
