The Pittsburgh Penguins tinkered with their fourth line Friday afternoon, calling up center Joseph Blandisi and sending Andrew Agozzino down in his place.
Agozzino, a 28-year-old signed as a free agent from the Colorado organization in July, made his Penguins debut Thursday night in a 2-1 victory over Anaheim. He was on the ice for the Ducks’ lone goal and received a grand total of 1 minute, 44 seconds of ice time in the game.
Blandisi, a 25-year-old acquired from Anaheim in exchange for Derek Grant last season, played six games for the Penguins last year, going pointless and averaging about six minutes of ice time per game. He had 20 points in 27 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season.
Blandisi will likely center wingers Adam Johnson and Sam Lafferty on the fourth line as the Penguins visit Minnesota on Saturday and Winnipeg on Sunday.
The Penguins have been forced to call up multiple forwards because of injuries to Evgeni Malkin, Alex Galchenyuk, Bryan Rust and Nick Bjugstad.
