The Penguins have placed defenseman John Marino on injured reserve retroactive to March 9.

Marino has missed the past three games because of an undisclosed injury. In 25 games this season, Marino has four points (one goal, three assists).

He skated Tuesday morning and initially was labeled as a “game-time decision” for Tuesday’s home game against the Boston Bruins in a statement from the team.

Forward Frederick Gaudreau was recalled from the taxi squad to the NHL roster, and forward Radim Zohorna was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL) and assigned to the taxi squad.

Gaudreau has played in six AHL games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and has four points (one goal, three assists).

Zohorna is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer this season with nine points (three goals, nine assists) in 11 games.
