Penguins get draft pick Jan Drozg under contract
The Pittsburgh Penguins got a 2017 draft pick under contract Monday, signing winger Jan Drozg to a three-year entry-level deal that goes into effect next season.
Drozg, a 6-foot-2, 172-pound fifth-round pick, leads Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in scoring with 19 goals and 53 points in 54 games this season.
Drozg, 19, led his native Slovenia to the gold medal the second division of the World Junior Championships this season. He was named the tournament’s top forward, recording 12 points in five games.
