Penguins activate forward Brandon Tanev from injured reserve

The Penguins activated forward Brandon Tanev from injured reserve in advance of Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. He has missed the past six games because of an undisclosed ailment

In 30 games this season, Tanev has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).

Notes:

Goaltender Maxime Lagace was recalled from the taxi squad under emergency conditions. In six American Hockey League (AHL) games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, Lagace has a 3-2-1 record along with a 1.98 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

• The team also assigned rookie forward Radim Zohorna from the NHL roster to the taxi squad. In two NHL games this season, Zohorna has one goal.

• Forward Justin Almeida has been assigned from the taxi squad to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In three AHL games this season, Almeida has one goal.
