Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defenseman Owen Pickering will represent the club and Atlantic Division at the 2025 American Hockey League (AHL) All-Star Classic, it was announced Saturday evening.

The All-Star Classic is set for Sunday and Monday.

Pickering, 21, was named as a replacement for Michael Callahan of the Providence Bruins, who is unable to participate.

He joins winger Emil Bemstrom, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer with 19 goals and 22 assists, as the club’s All-Star representatives.

This season, Pickering has appeared in 16 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, scoring one goal with a plus-9 rating.

Pickering, the Penguins’ first-round (No. 22 overall) draft pick in 2022, made his NHL debut Nov. 16 and was a regular presence in the club’s lineup from November to late January, when he was reassigned to the AHL.

In total, Pickering skated in 25 NHL games, scoring a goal with two assists in 14 minutes, 49 seconds of nightly ice time, before being sent down to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
