Former President Barack Obama surprised some ‘D.C.-area students Wednesday when he visited the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.

In addition to touring the Nationals facility, the 44th American president actively played with the children when he tossed a football around, took some swings in the batter’s box and delivered a speech to the pupils.

For what it’s worth, the lefty ended up launching a touchdown pass and sprinted down to celebrate with his receiver.

With a bat in his hand, Obama, 57, a ripped a line drive through the gap, turning it into a double.

“Great to get out there and take a few cuts at the plate yesterday — I had a blast with all these extraordinary young people,” Obama tweeted. “Thanks for letting me drop in and thanks to the Nationals Youth Academy for the outstanding work you do to support youth in DC.”

We’re still not sure who had more fun.

According to MLB.com, the Nationals Youth Academy uses sports and other after-school activities “help achieve their goals of fostering character development, academic achievement and improved health among underserved youth in D.C.”
