Steve Petrick thinks he still has something to give college football, and he plans to make his final season count.
“One hundred percent,” he said.
But Petrick will have to put that punctuation mark on his meandering career at another new school — his fourth in as many years.
A Norwin graduate who is a dependable pass-catching and blocking tight end, Petrick is transferring from Robert Morris to Maine.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder will be a redshirt senior. He began his college career at James Madison but abruptly switched gears and instead chose Temple. He played in only three games with the Owls, however, and grew impatient.
That brought him to Robert Morris.

While he did not get into specifics about why he wanted to decamp Moon Township, he said he wanted a fresh start.
“I just wanted a change. I like the conference and the culture (Maine) has built,” Petrick said.
After entering the transfer portal, Petrick said he was contacted by Maine about a month ago. With mutual admiration, the parties reached a deal. The Bears suddenly had a new tight end and Petrick a wish granted.
Petrick had six catches for 59 yards last season after pulling in eight for 104 the previous year with the Colonials.
He averaged 11.6 yards per catch is two seasons at RMU.
“I am hoping for a FCS championship,” Petrick said of his goals at Maine. “I am chasing my dream of playing in the NFL one day.”
