Top golf instructors Tom Patri and Tim Cusick, plus four-time PGA Tour winner Chip Beck and Uneekor’s VP of Marketing, Greg Sabella, are this week’s guests on the Next on the Tee podcast with Chris Mascaro.
Patri, from Naples (Fla.) Golf Schools, discusses the Ryder Cup and if Justin Thomas did enough to silence critics after his fifth-place finish at the Fortinet Championship. Patri shares his thoughts on whether Sergio Garcia should have been allowed to buy his way onto the European team, and if he will be watching Tiger Woods’ and Rory McIlroy’s new Tech Golf League.
Cusick, a Golf Magainze Top 100 instructor and PGA master professional, adds head coach of the PGA of America’s new Coaching Center in Frisco, Texas, to his impressive resume. Cusick takes us inside their new state-of-the-art coaching facility, plus the rest of what they have available on campus. Spoiler alert, it’s like the Disney World of golf. He also shares tips for how to play better in windy conditions and the importance of a positive attitude.
Beck won four times on the PGA Tour and was a member of three consecutive Ryder Cup teams from 1989-93. Hear about his first match which featured him being paired with Tom Watson and facing Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal. We talked about how Ryder Cup pressure compares to playing in a major. We hear what it was like being one of two captain’s picks by Dave Stockton in 1991 and his pivotal singles match against then No. 1 player in the world Ian Woosnam.
Sabella comes back and updates us on Uneekor’s amazing simulators, ones many dream of having in their basement. We learn about their partnership with rising LPGA star Lily He, how AI has impacted golf simulator technology, and what we may see from Uneekor at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.
