Somerset second baseman Hudson Knapik rips a pitch foul in the first inning July 28, 2022 in a Pennsylvania State 8-10 Little League Championship at West Point.

The field is down to four at the Pennsylvania Little League 8-10 State Tournament following Thursday’s results at West Point.

Newton kept the Hermitage bats silent in a 9-0 victory in one of the loser’s bracket games.

Newton will now face Blue Mountain, which held on to defeat Somerset in the other loser’s bracket games, at 4 p.m. Friday.

Newton scored three runs in the first inning and added two more in the second to build a commanding 5-0 lead. The Bucks County squad collected seven hits including a single, double and triple by winning pitcher Tyler Neeld.

Hermitage collected only one hit in the game.

Blue Mountain 9, Somerset 6: A six-run fourth inning rallied Blue Mountain and kept the Pottsville squad alive in the tournament.

Landon Clemas homered for Blue Mountain, while Alex Fanelli doubled Anthony Amato had two hits including a double and Max Fleagle had two hits.

Levi Buterbaugh had a double, Hudson Knapik had two hits and Hays Knapik had two hits including a double.

Somerset rallied from a 3-1 deficit to grab a 4-3 lead with a three-run fourth inning.

In the consolation game, West Side and St. Marys played to a 2-2 tie. The game was called after heavy rain made the field unplayable.

Today’s schedule has Morrisville playing Abington 6:30 p.m. in a winner’s bracket game.
