Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 22 saves on 24 shots in a 4-2 win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 22 saves on 24 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-2 home win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

With the victory, Blomqvist’s record improved to 3-1-0 while forwards Jonathan Gruden, Joona Koppanen, Rem Pitlick and Valtteri Puustinen all scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (4-2-0-0) which extended a winning streak to three games.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Sunday, 3 p.m.

Forward Lukas Svejkovsky had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers who suffered their first loss of the season, falling 7-3 to the Fort Wayne Komets at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 33 saves on 40 shots as his record fell to 2-1-0 while forward Cédric Desruisseaux recorded two assists for Wheeling (2-1-0-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is their home opener, a meeting with the Reading Royals on Nov. 4, 7:10 p.m.
