Minor league report: Penguins fall to Sound Tigers in shootout

Goaltender Emil Larmi made 28 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 shootout loss at home to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Defenseman Zach Trotman recorded two assists for the Penguins (23-16-3-5) who had a five-game winning streak snapped.

The Penguins next game is at home against the Binghamton Devils on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 38 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-2 home loss to the Orlando Solar Bears at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Forward Alec Butcher and defenseman Sean Trapp scored goals for the Nailers (20-19-5-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is at home against the Kansas City Mavericks on Tuesday, 7:05 p.m.
