Minor league report: Nailers rout Royals

Forward David Jankowski had a goal and three assists for the Wheeling Nailers who routed the Reading Royals, 7-3, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Tuesday.

Defenseman Chris Ortiz recorded five assists for Wheeling (22-5-1-0), which extended a winning streak to four games while forward Jack Beck contributed a goal and three assists.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 25 saves on 28 shots to improve his record to 5-2-0.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Norfolk Admirals on Friday, 7:05 p.m.
